Epithalon — Research Peptide (10mg Vial)
Price range: $50.00 through $300.00
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids. Supplied in lyophilized powder form for laboratory research.
Epithalon (also spelled Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It was developed as a defined synthetic analog of a peptide fraction prepared from pineal gland extract. With two acidic residues (glutamic acid and aspartic acid) and no aromatic side chains, it is small, highly polar and freely water-soluble.
Its lack of aromatic residues means it absorbs weakly above 220 nm, so UV detection in HPLC relies on the peptide-bond absorbance near 214 nm, and short polar peptides like this one elute early on standard C18 columns. These properties make it a practical model for method development with small hydrophilic peptides. In the laboratory it is used in in vitro cell-culture and biochemical assays. M-Rogue Research supplies Epithalon as a lyophilized powder in a 10mg vial, shipped from our California warehouse.

Third-Party Testing & Verification
A third-party certificate of analysis for Epithalon 10mg is coming soon. When it is issued, it will be posted on our Certificates of Analysis page alongside the COAs for our other products.
Until that COA is posted, this page does not state a purity figure for Epithalon. We publish purity and net-content values only when they are shown on a third-party certificate for the lot being supplied. If your work requires lot documentation before ordering, contact us through the contact page and we will let you know when the COA is available.
Storage & Reconstitution Guidelines
Epithalon 10mg is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed vial. In this form the peptide is considerably more stable than in solution, but it is still sensitive to moisture, heat and light. On receipt, store the unopened vial at -20°C, protected from light, in a dry container. Short periods at room temperature during transit are normal for lyophilized material.
Before opening, allow the vial to reach room temperature (typically 15–30 minutes) so that atmospheric moisture does not condense on the cold powder. Reconstitute with a solvent appropriate to your assay, such as sterile water or a suitable buffer; some sequences dissolve more readily in a small volume of dilute acetic acid or DMSO before dilution. Add solvent slowly down the vial wall and swirl gently rather than shaking or vortexing.
Once in solution, divide the material into single-use aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Store aliquots at -20°C (or -80°C for longer periods) and keep solutions in use at 2–8°C for short periods only. Record the lot number, solvent, concentration and date on every aliquot.
